Ingredients 

Tart Crust

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoon cold water

Filling

  • 4 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ½ cup walnuts chopped
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add egg yolk and cold water. Mix until dough forms. Press into tart pan.
  4. In another bowl, combine apples, walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Spread over crust.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
