Pie Crust
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Unsalted butter cold and cut into cubes
- ¼ cup Ice water
Filling
- 6 cups Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- ¾ cup Granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and butter for the crust. Add ice water and mix until dough forms. Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Roll out one half of the dough and fit it into a pie dish. Set aside.
In another bowl, mix apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Pour into the pie crust.
Roll out the second half of the dough and place it over the filling. Trim and crimp the edges. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Bake for 45-60 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Let cool before serving.
