Instructions
In a large saucepan, combine the sugars, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water. Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
Add the apple slices and lemon juice to the pan. Stir to coat the apples with the mixture.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
Remove from heat and let cool. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
