Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 0.25 cup Ice water

Filling

  • 3 Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 Egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water until the dough comes together. Form into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Arrange the apple slices in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border. Fold the edges over the apples, pleating as you go. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender. Let it cool slightly before serving.
