Ingredients 

Crust

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup ice water

Filling

  • 6 cups apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Crumble Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar for the crust. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing just until dough comes together. Press into a pie dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg for the filling. Pour into the crust.
  4. For the crumble topping, combine flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Sprinkle over the apple filling.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Let cool before serving.
