Galette Dough
- 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 cup Unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
- 0.25 cup Ice water
Filling
- 3 Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 0.25 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1 Egg beaten, for egg wash
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water until the dough comes together. Form into a disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
In another bowl, toss the apple slices with sugar and cinnamon. Arrange the apples in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border. Fold the edges of the dough over the apples.
Brush the dough edges with the beaten egg. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
