Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread cubes day-old bread works best
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • 0.25 cup raisins optional
  • 2 tablespoon butter melted

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Add bread cubes, apples, and raisins (if using) to the mixture. Stir well.
  5. Pour mixture into the greased baking dish.
  6. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
