Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Stir in the poppy seeds.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
