Main Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs separated
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 tablespoon melted butter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the egg yolks and add the buttermilk and melted butter. Mix well.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold them into the batter.
Heat the aebleskiver pan over medium heat and lightly grease each well with butter.
Pour batter into each well, filling about ¾ full. Cook until the edges start to set, then use a skewer to turn each aebleskiver 90 degrees. Continue cooking, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve warm with powdered sugar, jam, or syrup.
