I’ve never had a green apple pie but I’m sure it’s tart and delicious. This green apple pie recipe is for the filling only and will make one green apple pie.
I’d be tempted season this up with a dash of salt and maybe a handful of raisins or other dried fruit. The dried fruit would add a bit of extra texture and natural sweetness.
Green Apple Pie Recipe
1 1/2 quarts green apples
3 Tablespoons melted oleo (margarine or butter)
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Peel and slice the green apples, then toss with oleo and lemon juice. Sprinkle with sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Toss to combine.
This pie filling should fill one pie shell.
